So, so many things happening this year!

- Going to go see the San Francisco Mime Troupe play in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco with a friend tomorrow afternoon.
Then going to go see the movie Bruno with the boyfriend in the evening.

- Big sale coming up next week at work, lot's of stuff to do for that.

- Boyfriend's Aunt's wedding and friend's birthday party to go to on the 25th.

- Boyfriend's family reunion camping trip thing up in Bodega Bay starts on the 29th and runs till the 31st (hopefully my manager actually gave me those days off!).

- Boyfriend quits his second job at UPS in the beginning of August to start training for Boot Camp.

- Friend's annual summer party in late August.

- Week long vacation coming up in the middle of September (very, very much needed!).

- Boyfriend is off to Basic Training at Fort Benning Georgia on October 6th.

- ... And then comes the Holidays!

And what do you know? It's next year already .. Wtf?!

... Time sure does fly ...

On another, similar note:

Big things are happening this year. This is a year of many changes, many thoughts, many reflections, many everything's ...

What the hell am I babbling about, you ask?

Well ... My boyfriend, of 4 wonderful, lovely years, has enlisted in the army.

He will be shipping off to basic training in Fort Benning, Georgia on October 6, 2009. He will be gone for about 15 weeks. After that, he gets a week or so off to move to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to begin Special Forces (Army division) training. If he qualifies, he will stay on Fort Bragg and continue his Special Forces Training for another 2 - 3 years (and I will move onto or near base with him).
If he doesnt qualify for Special Forces, he will get bumped down to the Airborne Infantry division (not sure what happens then).

Of course I will miss him very, very much .. But I will also support him with everything that he will be going through. This is a very big change for the both of us. Never in my life did I see myself going down this path ... But I view this as a great opportunity to see and do things that I never imagined possible.

Due to this situation (and the fact that we've been together for 4 years), we have decided to get married before he leaves. Nothing too fancy or special though, as of course we both have limited expenses and time on our hands.

Many people have given me their opinions and thoughts, and many people have expressed their concerns and well wishes.

Im writing this so that I can keep everyone up to date on what will be happening within the next year or so. Im also writing this because I would like to know if anyone else out there has gone or is going through the same thing as I am? I really would love to hear peoples thoughts, stories and ideas on this, as I think every opinion leads me closer to better understanding this aspect of life.

That's all I really have to say right now ... Maybe I'll make a wiki page so that I can better catalog things as time goes on, or maybe I'll open up a live journal account, or something, so I don't continually spam you all with tons of diary posts
